CFC Video – Tribute To Nicholas Anelka
He may not have left yet but we are unlikely to see Nicholas Anelka play for Chelsea ever again.
Whilst not always 100% happy he has been a great servant and not complained when rotated by a succession of managers, any club would be lucky to have a player who has won almost everything you can as a player.
Therefore I thought it would be apt to have a video of him at his best as the post of 2011.

Defeat To Aston Villa – Initial Reactions

Despondent, frustrated and upset sum up how I feel at the end of 2011 with Chelsea ending it how they started in a bad run of form and low on ideas.
The result today has been symptomatic of our season so far, dominating the possession and play but lacking a cutting edge. This is interspersed with frequent lapses in concentration across the playing squad that are invariably pounced on by our opposition costing us points.
I really don’t want to dwell on today too much but I attempted to find some but the only one I could think of was Fernando Torres.
He came off the bench and looked sharp at one point hitting the bar, the African Cup of Nations could come at just the right time for the Spaniard as he will shoulder the responsibility to lead the line.
Win or lose up the blue, hopefully 2012 will be a true transitional year.

Drogba or Torres To Start Against Villa?

Earlier today FamousCFC.com asked you who should start upfront for against Aston Villa and the split was almost bang on 50/50 with everyone unsure whether to put their faith in the Spaniard or the Ivorian.
So who should start against Aston Villa the powerhouse Didier Drogba who has blown hot and cold during the campaign so far, or the misfiring Torres who has shown glimpses of a return to form but not quite pushed on to silence his doubters?
Like those in our survey I cannot decide between the two, both have their merits particularly with Drogba going off to the African Cup of Nations pretty soon.
Normally when I cannot make a decision I flip a coin, however I hope that AVB does not result to the same tactic to make his decision.

We all Follow The Chelsea – But They Are Unlikely To Follow You
For those of you uninterested in Twitter you can minimise the window now as the next few paragraphs are all about Chelsea FC on the technological phenomenon.
At the start of the week the clubs official twitter account was followed by over 500,000 fans and in turn followed the accounts of over 4,000 people including many fans.
Earlier yesterday however the axe fell and the club decided to unfollow 97% of its followers, as those in the #Occupy movement might say we the fans are the 97%.
Gone are the avid fans and blogs and instead the club follows just 123 accounts namely the official accounts of other clubs, recognised national and local media and a bizarre mix of random celebrities including boyband JLS, Canadian teenage father Justin Bieber and the elusive Drake who I have never heard of.
I am unsure who Drake is or why he is followed by the club, but I am assured that he is not a duck.
So does this matter?
Well not really, no one has really been affected beyond a minor scratch on their ego.
Yet these fans were not hurting anyone and by removing them the club have probably lost some goodwill that was generated by this small gesture.
This act signals another media faux pas by the club as it moves to control its media image and output.
Whilst the club is in its right to sculpt its media strategy as it wants sometimes it should remember that sometimes it is the small things that matter to people and act accordingly.

January 2012 Transfer Window Build Up
During late December and January there is endless media transfer speculation, some of it is well sourced and accurate, whereas other stories are based on little more than rumour and fan wish lists bundled into fanciful articles or hearsay and conjecture.
The unnamed source is the cornerstone of journalism with plenty of breaking stories made possible this way, however it is also the purge of the headline desperate muck peddlers who hide behind this to imagine any story that they think will attract readers.
Well courtesy of footballtransferleague.co.uk here are the players we have been linked to
They also tell us how accurate the English media is with its stories as you can see most of the prolific websites have a success rate of about 1 in 5 which is hardly inspiring.
Predictably the Guardian scored ok,ut TalkSport clock in quite badly with 0 correct stories out of 33.
