Shattering the Tangerine’s Dream! The Chelsea Football FanCast #130
Chidge and the boys mull over Sunday’s 4-0 win against the Tangerines and decide that it was probably a game of one half!
Chelsea played like a rare, highly priced and exotic fruit in the first half and stormed to a 4-0 lead. Blackpool played like, well a bunch of seedless; past their sell by date tangerines from Borough market. But strange as it may seem, Chelsea couldn’t make their pips squeak in the second half and it became more of a sloppy training session rather than the 10 nil demolition it should have been.
But hey, who’s moaning. We won 4-0 nil, we’re four points clear with a goal difference of 20. Question is, have we just witnessed pre-season and does the season start on Saturday 25th against Man Citeh?
All these important issues and questions are answered on the show as well as all the key issues from the game. The boys also award their Man of the Match; Chant of the Match; Celery and Guinness moments.
Another classic terrace song from the terraces is belted out (tunelessly!) in “We’re out show the world the way to sing” and having been AWOL last week, the good Dr is back in the surgery to answer all of your Chelsea related questions in Dear Mart.

The Three Players That Should Start For Chelsea In the Carling Cup
After years of chasing glory instead of blooding young players in the Carling Cup it appears that Chelsea under Carlo Ancelotti have finally decided that the key to youth development is the opportunity of first team football, something which the Carling Cup offers without any major outcry if the club is eliminated in the early stages.
Despite the number of young players out on loan there is still a fair amount of young talent training at Cobham daily and every Chelsea fan will be hoping to see a youthful side in the third round against Newcastle and potentially beyond
eChelseaFC has identified five players that we feel should be starting for Chelsea during this competition
Featured as one of eChelseaFC’s players for the future, he has enchanted Chelsea fans ever since the transfer saga that threatened to deny Chelsea the right to sign players for three transfer window.
He has already featured twice for Chelsea this season and fans are desperate for him to show what he can do if given first team opportunities.
Chance he will feature - 10/10
Liklihood to Start- 8/10
Like Gael Kakuta, McEachran has been featured on eChelseaFC’s focus on youth series, the 17 year old midfielder made his Chelsea debut in the Champions League against MSK Zilna.
Having impressed in pre-season the Carling Cup would appear to be the next stepping stone in his path towards first team football.
Chance he will feature – 7/10
Chance he will start – 5/10
The young defender to really stake his claim for a place in the Chelsea first team, a regular fixture on the bench the Carling Cup will be his opportunity to expand on his FA Youth Cup victory and show his leadership and firrst team potential
Chance he will feature – 10/10
Chance he will start – 10/10
Other Players We Would Like to See Play (Chance they may feature)
Patrick Van Aarnholt - 8/10
Michael Woods – 5/10

So Who the Hell are Newcastle United?
Stadium: St James Park
Capacity: 52,387
Last Season Position: 1st in Championship
Newcastle United from the North East of England and are known as the Magpies, famed for their attacking football and the exposed beer bellies of their fans they are famed for being one of the most fanatical sets of supporters in the country.
When I first started watching football Newcastle were in the ascendancy under Kevin Keegan when they came within a whisker of winning the Premier League.
Recent times however have been harder the takeover of Mike Ashley led to fan anger and relegation from the top flight, the Magpies bounced back straight away and will be looking to develop this season with mid table a realistic goal.
St James Park is a difficult place to visit at any time, let alone on the back of two straight defeats so Chelsea will need to be at their best to overhaul the Magpies and the elements
